About the Workshop - Lectures by directors of the nation's leading high school and college forensics programs in coaching, administering
a squad, administering a tournament, and argumentation and debate.
- Teachers work directly with debate squads to learn effective coaching techniques.
- Teachers receive numerous instructional materials including a full lesson plan for teaching a year-long or semester-long
debate course, syllabi, lecture discussion guides, sample cases and affirmative and negative briefs, many handouts, homework
assignments and tests. All interested teachers will be provided with computer software and instruction necessary to schedule
and tabulate a debate tournament on the Macintosh computer.
- Interaction
among teachers and workshop staff is encouraged to discuss contemporary problems in forensics and ways to overcome these problems,
as well as to share ideas and gain new acquaintances on the forensics circuit.
- An individual course of instruction is established for each individual teacher, regardless of whether they are a
beginner or an experienced veteran.
